How to… become a member
Becoming a member of Dell Photo Centre is easy, Within minutes you’ll able to upload, share and print your digital photos.
It involves a simple 3-step process:
Step 1 – Create an account
Step 2 – Activate your account
Step 3 – Log in
We look forward to welcoming you as a member of Dell Photo Centre!
Step 1 Create an account
- Click "Join" - A signup window will appear.
- Enter your details
Choose a user name and enter it into the form. Your user name will be used to form part of your personal Dell Photo Centre
home page, and will also be used when you send invitations to friends and family to view your online albums. We recommend you use
your normal name and not a pseudonym that you’ll have trouble remembering e.g. using “johnsmith” rather than “3l33t3d00d” –
Dell Photo Centre will automatically advise you if your chosen username is already allocated.
- Enter your email address
This is used to confirm your membership, and to “log” you back into the system when you return.
- Confirm your membership
Dell Photo Centre will send you an email to your email address.
This email outlines your membership details and contains a link that allows you activate your membership.
Step 2 Activate your account
- Click on the link contained within the email you receive
The account activation process confirms that your email address was correct and that you have received your membership details. Simply click on the link in the email, or follow the steps detailed there.
You need to be connected to the internet when clicking on that link to successfully complete this step.
- Choose your password
All you need to do now is choose a password that will allow you to access the Dell Photo Centre system.
This password should be individual, and memorable, and preferably not something that is too easily guessed by anyone else.
Congratulations! You have now completed the signup process. All you need to do is log in to your new personal Dell Photo Centre home page.
Step 3 Log in
You may now return to the Dell Photo Centre homepage and click Login to log in using your new email and password.
Once you have logged in, you will be presented with options for creating your own personal folder, homepage, online digital photo album and will also be able to upload digital photos for printing.
How to… create an album
In order to store digital photos on the Dell Photo Centre site, you must first create an album.
Once your digital photos have been uploaded into an album, you may invite family and friends to view the album and/or select images in your album for printing.
- Step 1 – Log in
- Step 2 – Create your album
Select the "Create an Album" tab.
Create Title
Choose a title for your album and then enter a description.
Enter a brief description
Enter a description of the images you plan to upload to this digital photo
Choose a category for the album
Select the album’s subject category, eg. Family, Entertainment, Cultural,… The more accurate you are here, the easier it will be for your friends to find the digital photos!
Select an album theme
You may also select a visual theme for your album these add colours and designs to the background and borders of your album.
There are a number of themes to choose from, such as Swimming Pool, Golden Sands and Love.
Specify privacy level
You may want only invited visitors to see your digital photo albums, and some albums you may want to keep personal.
For each album, select one of the following:
- Private – you are the only one that can view the digital photos
- By Invite Only – only people that you send invitations to can view the photos
- Public – anyone can browse the digital photos.
Click 'Create'
Congratulations! You have now created your album and can start uploading your digital photos. See How to.. upload digital photos
Should you wish to create further albums, simply repeat this process.
Note: Your albums are easily accessible from your personal Dell Photo Centre home page, or from the main page after you have logged in.
How to… upload digital photos
You must be a Dell Photo Centre member and be logged in, and created at least one online photo album in order to upload digital photos. See How to… become a member for more details
Note: At present only digital photos in JPEG format (.jpg) can be uploaded. JPEG offers good compatibility with most digital cameras, and a good balance of high quality digital photos and file compression.
- Click the "Upload digital photos" tab.
- Choose an Album
Use the dropdown menu to choose the album in which you wish to upload digital photos.
If you don’t have any albums listed, you’ll need to create one - please see How to… create an album.
Otherwise, choose the album and click 'Upload'.
- Upload digital photos
You now need to select the digital photos you wish to upload. Therefore, you need to know where and in which folder the digital photos are located on your computer.
- Click 'Browse' to access your computer's hard disk, open folders and then click on digital photos for uploading.
- Once the digital photo is listed in the Browse window, click 'Upload'.
If you are uploading a large number of digital photos, you may request more than one Browse window simply select the number of images you wish to upload and a browse window will appear for each one.
Estimated upload times for different modem speeds are shown on this page. These are indicative only, and there are many factors that influence the time that this process takes to complete.
How to… share digital photos with friends and family
In order to share digital photos, you will need to know the web site address (sometimes called a “URL”) of your personal Dell Photo Centre home page.
The web site address of your homepage is: http://dell.fujicolor.com.au/yourname - In this case, “yourname” with the user name, which you created as part of How to… become a member.
There are several ways to share your digital photos:
- Invite friends and family to visit a online digital photo album or personal Dell Photo Centre Homepage
- Send eCards to your friends and family
- Invite friends and family to visit a online digital photo album
- To share your digital photo album with family and friends, you can send them a personal invitation via email from the Dell Photo Centre site.

- Choose an album
Albums are easily accessible from your personal Dell Photo Centre Homepage after you have logged in.
If you don’t have any albums listed, you’ll need to create one - please see How to… create an album.
- Click on the "Invite a Friend" tab
- Send your invitation
- Enter your friend’s email address, a subject and a custom message
- Click "Send Invitation".
Note: Your friend's address is automatically stored within each folder's "Access" file.
You may alter or change access privileges by clicking the "Access" tab when viewing a digital photo album.
Invitations to albums which have been labelled 'Private' cannot be sent.
If you wish to send an invitation to a Private album you must first go to the album’s Properties and change the Privacy level to either 'Public' or 'By Invite Only'.
You will then be able to send an invitation to view that album.
Send eCards to your friends and family
A Dell Photo Centre eCard is like an online postcard. It includes a digital photo of your choice and a message, and you send it via email.
You may use digital photos in your online digital photo album to send eCards to friends and family.
- Select a digital photo
From within a digital photo album, select a digital photo and click on it to open it individually.
- Click "Send eCard"
- Enter Recipient’s Details
Enter the recipient’s name and email address, and fill in the subject and message fields.
- Select Theme
Select a visual theme for your eCard - themes include swimming pool, clouds, golden sand and love.
- Preview your eCard
Click on "Preview" to preview your Dell Photo Centre eCard. If you wish to make any changes to your Dell Photo Centre eCard, just click "Back", and return to the previous step.
- Send
If you are satisfied with how your eCard looks, click "Send". Otherwise, go back and make the changes you feel necessary.
Once you have sent your Dell Photo Centre eCard you may wish to send the same card to a different person.
To do this, click on “New Recipient” and change the recipient’s name and email address accordingly.
If you would like to create a new Dell Photo Centre eCard, just click on "New eCard".
If you do not wish to send any further eCards, click "Finish".
Manage Invitations and eCards
Dell Photo Centre provides its members with an Inbox and a Sent Items box, so that you can easily manage your invitations and eCards.
You'll find links to these by visiting your personal Dell Photo Centre Homepage.
How to… make changes to your homepage and digital photo albums
There are many things that you can change on your personal Dell Photo Centre home page and digital photo albums.
You’ll need to be a registered Dell Photo Centre user, and be logged in.
Some of the more popular things to do with your personal Dell Photo Centre home page and digital photo albums are:
- Personalise your homepages and digital photo albums
- Change album features
- Re-order, move and delete digital photos
- Edit digital photo details
- Personalise your homepages and digital photo albums
Your homepage and digital photo albums can be personalised in a number of ways.
Select your homepage or the album you wish to personalise, and select the 'Properties' tab. From here, you may:
- Choose your own Cover digital photo
This allows you to select one digital photo most representative of you for use as a cover digital photo.
This will be the first digital photo visitors to your homepage will see. Perhaps try a picture containing yourself, or a memorable digital photo that you want to display prominently?
- Enter a Welcome Message
Here you may enter a welcome message for your visitors. “Welcome to my Dell Photo Centre home page” is a good one to start with!
- Select an Album Theme
You may also select a visual theme for your album - these add colours and designs to the background and borders of your album.
There are a number of themes to choose from, such as Swimming Pool, Golden Sands, Clouds and Love.
- Change album features
You may wish to change an album’s cover, title, description, category or visual theme.
Choose one of your albums, and choose “Properties”. Make the changes that you wish.
Once you have finished personalising the album, click 'Save' to confirm your changes.
- Re-order, move and delete digital photos
You may delete, move or change the order of your digital photos within a photo album.
Open the album and click on the "Arrange" tab. To delete a digital photo, select the box below the image and click on
"Delete Selected". To re-order your photos, use the drop down beneath the photos to change the photo number.
Click "Save Order" your photos will be re-arranged into the new specified order.
Note: To move photos to other albums, select the box beneath the photo, and use the dropdown menu by the "Move Selected To" button to choose the album where you wish to move the photo.
Once you have selected the album just click on the "Move Selected To" button and your images will be transferred.
- Edit photo details
You may change a photo’s title, description, etc.
Click on the "Edit Photos" tab – make the changes you wish.
To save your changes click "Save".
How to… order high-quality prints of your photos
Once you have uploaded your photos to an album in your Dell Photo Centre homepage and to your online album, you may select photos for printing.
- Select photos
Open the album where the photos you wish to receive prints are kept.
- Click the "Buy Photos" tab
All the photos in your album will be uploaded, along with options and recommendations as to print size.
- Confirm your order
Using the checkboxes on the left, clear the ticks on the photos you do not wish to order.
Then, using the dropdown menus on the right, select your preferred print sizes for each selected photo.
- Proceed to Checkout
If you are satisfied with your order, you may then click "Proceed to Checkout".
How to… create a folder
Folders allow you to group albums into various categories. To create a folder you simply click on the "Create a Folder" link on the Home page view, after having logged in or click on the "Create a Folder" button on your member home page. Give your folder a name and description and click the "Create" button. This creates the folder and takes you back to your member home page. The folder is not visible yet, you will have to put some albums into it. To add albums to a folder, if you are on your member home page click on the album you wish to add. In the album view click on "Album properties". Notice now there is a dropdown box next to the label "In folder". Click on the dropdown and select the folder you want. Click "Save".
Now when you go back to your member home page the folder will be visible with the album you moved into it.
